BEFORE READING A BOOK: Would you want to know if it contains descriptive sex scenes, violence/gore, abuse, torture/death, drug use, underage drinking, language, etc.?
Obviously, not everyone has the same reading tastes, comfort, or even maturity.
I myself do not worry about what is in the contents of a book I read for myself. However, when recommending a book to someone else or trying to make sure it is “appropriate” for “my” child to read, I thought that the creation of the general checklist below might make recommendations of or choosing of books for one’s self would be a great tool.
This could be used for deciding if a book is for you, letting your child read a book, or just for recommendation purposes in general (this WOULD NOT contain specific info. just an X if it applies)Name of Author & Book | |
