Brandee’s Review:
WOW – that is what I can say! After I finished this book I was totally amazed by Nicole’s ability to pull me into the story. Even more amazing is that this book is only 150 pages and it did not seem rushed or short to me (even though I flew through it) and she was able to build the characters, suck me into the story and devastate me with her story in only 150 pages! If you have figured me out by now is that I HATE to ruin a story for anyone with spoilers so I can’t say very much as the blurb above does not give you too much information. What I will say is that this is a story about a girl’s heart breaking struggle with the secrets she has kept and her journey to move forward. The three (actually four) guys that are there for her when her walls come crashing down I fell in love with them all! By the end of this book I did not know what to think….my mind would not function properly….I was left speechless! This is how I felt when I finished reading “Reason to Breathe” by Rebecca Donovan. It left me wanting more and I NEEDED more and you will too. So, luckily for me, the second book “Ruining You” was here and waiting for me already. After I read a book that has such troubling topics I cannot imagine how the Author is able to write these stories as they seem so real while you are reading them and it makes you wonder the how or why they write them in the first place. I know they do not intentionally try to torture us (well, at least I hope not), but instead they are sending a message to the reader. To me it is a message of hope and overcoming the crap that life can throw at you and we get to watch the journey as Jay tries to get there. We get a front row seat to watch first love and the sparks flying. I highly recommend this book! My advice to you is to have Ruining You ready and waiting for you to continue the story. If you have NOT READ Ruining Me – please do not continue – except to enter the giveaways at the bottom of this page! Reading the Blurb for Book 2 – it will reveal/spoil the first book and I really want you to read Ruining Me without knowing the outcome.
Buy on Amazon – CLICK HEREBuy on B&N – CLICK HEREGenre: New AdultRecommended for readers 17+ due to sexual situations, violence, and language. For a girl who dared to tempt death, living is the only promise that matters now.Jay’s life almost came to a forced end when her darkest secrets were revealed and the one who she chose to give her future to was ripped away. Now, everything she kept hidden is the topic of everyone’s conversation, and not all are sympathetic. Someone wants her horrific past to dictate her future, and another is determined to help her choose a different path.In conclusion to Ruining Me, Kane and Rhye know that Jay is worth the fight, but waiting for her to find herself may ruin them all.
BRANDEE’S REVIEW:
Can I say again how much these books effected me? Without revealing what happens in this book I can say I loved this story and even more the message of how important it is to seek the proper support and treatment when dealing with depression and suicide. “Live, Jay. Live every day like it’s your last. Treasure the moments you have, and make sure you make them count.” I really enjoyed Nicole’s characters in these books and her ability to put you right in the head of how Jay struggled to make choices regarding each one. Now you have to read along to find out how Jay’s journey will end or hopefully begin! I leave you with one final thought…… “Carpe Diem” ~~ life is all about remembering to seize the day and never look backCLICK HERE TO SEE OUR RATINGS OF RUINING YOU
Author Bio:
I love angst….I thrive on it, but only the fictional kind. I adore a story that grips the reader from the beginning and doesn’t let go…EVER. I’m an avid reader who just recently discovered my love of writing. My favorite things in life include my three wild & crazy kids, Reeses Pieces, and every genre of music.

My fav part of Ruining Me was when Jay finally stood up for herself against the coach. It took alot of courage and she deserved to be heard by him. My favorite part of Ruining You was when Jay finally gave herself over to Kane and let herself be loved and happy.
